Starting Preschool

Here is a short update on what 2Cute has been up to over the last few months.

Summer of 2013 was over in a flash and we now find ourselves with Autumn in full swing. One of the reasons that summer flew by for us was we were away almost every weekend. From sleepovers at the Grandparents to numerous road trips (Maryland, Boston, Toronto, Montreal, and Sandbanks), our neighbours will attest they barely saw us around.

On top of that, we sold my 13 year old small car and upsized to an SUV. One of the motivators was when we packed up for our Boston road trip and my Father In Law pointed at the over-stuffed trunk and said: “You guys need a new car.” Boy was he right! Now that we have a larger car, we can fit sooo much more into it! Check out the photo below from my first grocery run and judge for yourself. The SUV is now 2 months old and Mister & Missy still refer to it as the “new car”.

Speaking of M&M, they moved up to preschool in August and we have already noticed lots of positive changes. They are now more talkative, stringing sentences together, and talking about their favourite friends and toys. They call each other YaYa, short for Ya and Ya of course! Backseat conversations on the way home from daycare go like this:

Missy: Dada home

Mister: No dada home

Missy: Dada home!

Mister: No dada home!!

Both: Waaaa!

Mister: Stop It YaYa!

Missy: Mama!! YaYa stop it me!

They are off their bottles, out of their cribs and into bed kid beds, still sleeping through the night, eating well, love going to school and on the verge of being potty trained. What more could we ask for as parents? Oh wait, I know… more sleep! Totally our fault for staying up until midnight to catch up on the rest of life instead of going to sleep when they do.
