Blogging is Hard Work

It’s not easy being a blogger, especially when you are new to the blogging world.

This is my first summer post on 2Cute, though not for lack of ideas. Throughout the summer so far I half wrote a few blog posts in my head, which is the easy part. The tough part is actually sitting down to type it all out, and find corresponding photos to go with it.

There are three reasons why it’s been quiet on the blog front. First, the reason I described in the previous paragraph (laziness around finding the perfect photo).

Next, I overcommitted myself to the blogging world. Not only was I trying to get this site started, but was also trying to get the word out about my blog through writing for other sites like Ottawa Mommy Club (OMC) and How Do You Do IT? (HDYDI)

Unfortunately the standard commitment for bloggers is to post a minimum of 2 posts a month which is beyond what I am able to do. Think about it: 2 posts per month per site is more than one article per week. As much as I love writing that is a lot to keep up with.

The third reason why I haven’t been blogging is that it recently became a lower priority for me (sleep and housework won out). I found myself up late at night (Much like tonight!) working diligently on writing posts when I should have been winding down for the night or doing other tasks. So, I thought to make it an activity to do only when I have some downtime. Which for all your moms out there know that means NEVER!

So, I decided the only way to continue blogging was to refocus my efforts. I am now a guest blogger on OMC (meaning, I will write articles occasionally) and luckily the HDYDI commitment is more relaxed.

So, back to 2Cute! The next couple of blog posts coming up will about Ramadan decorations and fasting in general. Luckily Ramadan (or Ramzan for my desi readers ;-)) isn’t over yet so it’s still timely!

Better late then never!
